I was born in Batavia, NY and after a car accident while in undergraduate school, I discovered chiropractic. I was amazed at the pain relief that I received after a short period of time receiving care. I knew then that this was for me, and so began my quest for a chiropractic degree and my migration westward. I graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa in February 2000. From that point on I was drawn to learning more about holistic healing and helping the body to heal on its own. I started learning about all the different holistic supplements and how to use them.
In 2004 I received my Acupuncture Certification from Cleveland Chiropractic College, and my world expanded from there. I began working in a holistic-based clinic in Cedar Rapids, Iowa in early 2005. There I expanded on my acupuncture knowledge as well as my use of supplements, low-level laser therapy, emotional aspects to illness and a WHOLE-istic approach to the body and healing. My journey west did not end in Iowa, but has now brought me to Oregon with the start of the New Year.
I use an approach to the body called the 6 Steps to Wellness that looks at 6 different areas that may be causing dis-ease in the body and using the following techniques to eliminate that disease. This protocol uses Muscle Response Testing to determine weaknesses/deficiencies in the body and the tools that are needed to replenish, nourish and heal the body. I use a variety of whole food supplements as well as time-tested homeopathics and detoxification protocols. In addressing the structure of the body I use manual manipulation techniques and low force instrument adjusting, as well as Myofascial Release techniques, and scar/adhesion reduction techniques.
I use my acupuncture training to influence the acupuncture meridians through homeopathies and nutrition and detoxification, as well as recommending the use of acupuncture to all who need it. I have a great allergy and environmental sensitivities desensitization technique to help you remove them from your life.
I am also highly trained in NeuroEmotional Technique (NET), a Mind/Body technique that looks at the emotional connection to physical illness and have used this technique successfully to help with chronic conditions such as yeast infection, low back pain, digestive issues just to name a few. As well as goal setting, clearing out the brain fog and much much more.
I love working with children, getting them to achieve and perform better physically, mentally and emotionally. I have excellent protocols for ADD/ADHD-diagnosed kids, as well as those kids who just may not be achieving their best.
I look forward to being a part of the collaborative aspect of Village Health Clinic in being able to take care of the WHOLE person in one space, and exploring what I can bring to the clinic and the patients we serve.
